February 2021
SFAC 500, conducted a PADI, Discover Scuba class, which is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. We had a total of 18 non-divers take part in 3 pool sessions and experience breathing underwater, while enjoying a weightless environment. The PADI Discover Scuba Dive earns them credit toward their PADI Open Water Course and eventually certification! Our in house instructor, Clayton Edens, did an outstanding job in planning and conducting the event. He will continue this diving education with an Open Water certification and beyond (up to assistant instructor) for those chapter members interested in more diving.
Clay is ready to help with these next steps in preparation for the upcoming trip to bonne Terre cave diving!
Tentatively scheduled for July, Bonne Terre is a one of a kind diving experience, which divers from all over the world come to experience. You must be certified to dive at Bonne Terre; however, there are other tours (land and boat) available for non divers that are also terrific.
